ISA Level 1 Surf Instructor
ISA LEVEL 1 SURF INSTRUCTOR
The ISA (International Surfing Association) award is the most widely accepted international standard for accreditation of coaches and instructors in the surf school industry both within the UK and worldwide. Our courses are run under licence from the ISA, Surfing’s World Governing Body.
The ISA Level 1 is the minimum requirement and industry standard to work as a surf instructor in a surf school, surf camp, club or college.
This internationally recognised qualification allows you to coach beginner and intermediate level surfers. The programme develops individual skills and knowledge base, covering a range of modules. A range of different approaches are involved in coaching and instructing all our trainee coaches. It must be combined with a valid lifeguard course in order to work as a surf instructor, such as the full ‘SLSGB Surf Lifeguard’ award which allows you work as an instructor as well as a lifeguard, or the shorter ‘Surf Coach Saftey & Rescue Competency Award’ if you only wish to work as a surf instructor
The membership to ISA will be valid for a year, after this you will need to pay your annual membership directly to ISA.
